Solar Battery Storage
Solar Battery Storage in Cheshire
Solar panels make most of their power when you are out. A home battery stores the surplus so you can use it in the evening, instead of exporting it and buying it back later. We design and fit batteries with new systems or add them to existing ones.

Solar Battery Storage across Cheshire
Without a battery, any solar power you do not use as it is made goes to the grid. With one, it charges the battery and you use it later, which can raise how much of your own power you use. A battery can also charge on cheap overnight electricity if you are on a time-of-use tariff, so it can help even on days with little sun.
We fit batteries with new solar systems and add them to existing arrays. Whether the battery connects on the DC side with a hybrid inverter or on the AC side depends on your system, and we explain the choices at the survey. We also fit EV chargers that can use surplus solar to charge your car: see EV charger installation.

When a battery makes sense
- You are out in the daytime and use most of your power in the evening
- You export much of your solar generation and want to use more of it yourself
- You are on, or considering, a time-of-use tariff with cheaper night rates
- You want some resilience if your supply fails, using a system designed for it
- You are adding an electric car or heat pump and want to make the most of the system
How we fit a battery
We pick the battery size and the position for safety and access, typically in a garage, utility room or loft where the manufacturer’s guidance allows, and not in rooms where it is not permitted. We run cabling, fit isolation and protection, configure the inverter and commission and test the system.
Backup power during a cut is not automatic on every system and needs specific equipment and wiring. If it matters to you, tell us at the survey and we will design for it and explain exactly what would run and for how long.
How it works
Free survey
We check roof direction, pitch, shade and condition, and look at how your household uses power.
Design and fixed price
A system sized to your usage, with the equipment, the price and the timescale in writing.
Installation
Fitted by our team with the roof checked first, and the electrical work tested before handover.
Handover
We explain how to read your system, send the paperwork and give you your written guarantee.
How big a battery do I need?
Battery size depends on your evening and overnight use and how much surplus your panels produce. A larger battery costs more and is not always better. We design around your usage, tell you what a given size will and will not do and quote the options in writing.
What affects the cost?
Cost depends on the capacity, the make and model, whether it is fitted with a new system or added later, the inverter arrangement and the installation. We give you a fixed price in writing, with warranty details, after a survey.

Solar Battery Storage: your questions answered
Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?
Often, yes. It depends on your inverter and wiring. We check at the survey and tell you the cleanest way to add one.
Will a battery power my house in a cut?
Only if the system is designed for backup. Many are not. If you want it, we design the system and explain what it would run.
Where can the battery go?
Usually a garage, utility room or similar space, where manufacturer’s guidance and the regulations allow. We advise at the survey.
Is a battery safe?
Home batteries from reputable manufacturers include protection systems, and they must be installed to the manufacturer’s instructions and the wiring regulations. We fit and test to those standards.
