Emergency Roof Repairs across Cheshire

Emergency roof work usually follows high winds, heavy rain or a sudden failure: tiles or slates blown off, a ridge that has shifted, a chimney that has been damaged, a flat roof that has split or a gutter that has come away. The first job is to stop water getting in and make sure nothing else can fall.

Temporary protection might be a tarpaulin fixed over the damaged area, a quick re-fix of loose tiles or a temporary patch on a flat roof. It buys time to arrange the proper repair without the pressure of water coming in. We tell you plainly what is temporary and what is permanent.

Want to talk it through?

Send us a photo or describe the problem and we will tell you honestly what we would do and what it involves. A free survey and a written quote follow.

When to call for urgent help

  • Tiles, slates or ridge pieces blown off or hanging loose after a storm
  • Water coming through a ceiling or running down a wall
  • A chimney that is leaning, cracked or has lost pots or capping
  • A section of flat roof that has split, lifted or is holding water
  • A gutter or fascia hanging off the building

What we do in an emergency

We make the area safe, stop the water getting in and photograph the damage, which is useful for an insurance claim. If it is not safe to work, for example in high wind, we tell you and arrange the earliest safe time.

Once the roof is protected we survey properly, explain what caused the damage and give you a fixed price for the permanent repair. Nothing is carried out beyond the emergency work without your agreement.

Fixed-price quote

A written, itemised price and a start date. If anything changes we ask you first.

The work

Scaffold and protection where needed, careful workmanship and a tidy site every day.

Sign-off

We show you the finished work, send photos and give you your written guarantee.

Dealing with your insurer

If the damage is storm-related, contact your insurer early. Keep photos, any damaged material and receipts for temporary work, and ask what they need from a roofer. We can supply a written description of the damage and the work. Cover varies between policies and we cannot tell you what yours will pay.

What affects the cost?

Emergency work is priced for the job in hand: the access needed, how much temporary protection is required and the time involved. We explain the cost before we start where it is safe to do so, and we agree the permanent repair separately once the roof is protected.

Emergency Roof Repairs: your questions answered

Do you work 24 hours a day?

We respond to urgent roof problems as quickly as we can. Call us, tell us what has happened and we will say when we can attend and what to do in the meantime.

What should I do before you arrive?

Stay inside and away from damaged areas, move belongings away from leaks and put buckets under drips. Do not climb on the roof. If there is a danger to people, call the emergency services.

Will you fix it permanently the same day?

Sometimes, if the damage is small. Larger repairs usually need materials and a dry weather window, so we make it safe first and arrange the permanent repair as soon as it can be done properly.

Can you help with an insurance claim?

We can give you photographs and a written description of the damage and the work. The claim is between you and your insurer.
